Privacy policy

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the app:

• Account details — your name and email from the sign-in provider you choose (Google or Apple), used to create and secure your account.
• Your content — the recipes, cookbooks, notes, and photos you create or import.
• App preferences — settings like your chosen theme and default servings.
• Basic diagnostics — anonymized crash and performance data that helps us fix bugs. This can't identify you.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers.

How we use it

Your information is used to provide and improve Recepta — to save and sync your cookbooks across your devices, let you share recipes, secure your account, and respond when you contact us. We do not use your content to target ads, and we never sell it.

Sharing & cookbooks

When you share a cookbook with someone, the recipes in it become visible to the people you invite. When you share a single recipe by link, anyone with that link can view that recipe. You control what you share, and you can stop sharing or remove members at any time. Members you invite see the name you use on your account.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate the app, including cloud hosting and authentication (for example, Google Firebase) and the sign-in providers you choose. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments and only as needed to deliver their service.

How long we keep it

We keep your content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, cookbooks, and recipes are removed promptly. Anonymized, aggregate statistics that can't identify you may be retained, and a limited set of records may be held for up to 90 days where the law requires, after which they're erased.

Your choices

You can view and edit your content in the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise these in the app, on the deletion page, or by emailing us — we won't charge you or make you jump through hoops.

You can permanently delete your Recepta account and its data — from inside the app, or here on the web without installing anything.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your cookbooks safe and to address issues quickly if they arise.

Children

Recepta isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Recepta after a change means you accept the updated policy.
